xxMadrona Tree Series |
| |
The sublime beauty of the Madrona tree is to be witnessed in the glow of the late afternoon sun of the Pacific Northwest. Its incredible bark is the hallmark of this exotic native beauty. The colorful peeling bark reveals trunks that are graceful and curvy with intriguingly feminine qualities. In the early spring, the remarkably smooth surface of the wood looks like yellowish green skin which turns to flesh tones then deep tan. During the summer the bark glows from bright orange to rusty red. In autumn, the Madrona glistens in the rain, displaying its polished cinnamon and purple hues. The bark begins to split and peel in interesting shapes throughout the winter revealing new skin in the spring. |
